Hello, I am a photographer based in New York City who specializes in 35mm film photography. I shoot, develop, scan and edit all of my photos personally and have grown to very much prefer this relatively weighty investment of time in my work. I choose to stick with the more expensive, time-consuming and temperamental medium of film over digital photography because I enjoy it's tactile nature and I believe it imbues the work with a certain personality. Film behaves in certain ways that while predictable are not always easy to wrangle or control, which is what can make working with it both frustrating and rewarding. The negative often retains some essence of the time and place in which it was exposed, a tiny fraction of a mood, or a feeling. The final image shows its flaws, its individuality and thus its spirit. It is the attempt to capture the spirit of a moment that keeps me coming back to my camera again and again.

My photographic interests are vast and I hope to explore them all eventually but practicality has presently kept my work focused on street photography and live theatre. No one pays you to do street photography unless you're selling a coffee table book but a few people might be interested in having their live event immortalized in acetate; if this is you, please get in contact.
